Hi, we are The Strawberry Fox Cafe - A school and  social enterprise cafe that aims to transform the lives of our students with learning disabilities and/orautism by learning practical and barista skills and preparing them for adulthood and working life.

 

We opened the doors of The Strawberry Fox Café in September 2023 and haven’t looked back since.

How did the name ‘Strawberry Fox’ come to be?

 

The name Strawberry Fox was born out of a creative project involving our students, who worked alongside Digital Advantage to design the café. As part of the process, the students researched local cafés and thought about how to make our space inviting to the community.

During an ideas storming session,  the students discussed our school’s horticulture garden, where strawberries are one of the fruits we harvest. However, they noticed that many of these strawberries were mysteriously disappearing overnight. Upon further investigation, they discovered the culprit—a resident fox that had been spotted wandering the grounds after dark. The students set up a night camera and, sure enough, caught the fox in action!

 

Inspired by this playful encounter, the students combined the idea of the strawberries with the fox, creating a logo that cleverly blends the two. And so, Strawberry Fox was born—both a nod to our garden and a symbol of the creative spirit that fuels our community.

 

At Strawberry Fox Cafe, our mission is to create an inclusive and vibrant space where everyone is not only welcomed but celebrated. Run by our talented Special Education Needs students, our cafe is more than just a place for a cup of coffee; it's a platform for growth, empowerment, and fostering a sense of community. Our primary goal is to provide a supportive environment for our students to develop valuable life skills, gain confidence, and showcase their unique talents. Through exceptional service, delicious offerings, and a commitment to inclusivity, Strawberry Fox Cafe aims to break down barriers, promote understanding, and exemplify the extraordinary capabilities of all individuals.
